Diagnosis is simpler when a single body system dysfunctions or when a single microbe invades. The symptoms and syndromes of mold toxicity, however, demand more than what a single test or a single set of question checkboxes can provide. First, they require an ability to look for explanations to the unexplained symptoms. Second, they require the ability to recognize the various “faces” or patterns with which mold can present in an individual. Third, they require the consideration of whether of mold’s “friends” accompany and contribute to the unexplained symptoms.

This section discusses each of the necessary ingredients for proper diagnosis in mold toxicity.
